Abstract |
Most widely used antenna for wireless applications is microstrip patch antenna. This paper compares the characteristics of different shapes of microstrip patch antenna. The shapes taken into consideration are rectangular, square, circular and meander. The proposed antennas are designed to operate at 2.4GHz frequency. They are simulated on FR-4 substrate with relative permittivity of 4.4 and thickness of 1.6mm. The simulation is carried out using HFSS software. The coaxial feeding technique is used to excite the patch. The parameters studied are return loss, VSWR, radiation pattern and input impedance. Keywords—Microstrip patch antenna; Rectangular; Square; Circular; Meander; HFSS. | |||||||||
