Abstract
This paper provides overview of controllability and observability of linear stare-space system with possible methods of determining them, such as Kalman matrix or Hautus criterion. The method of system transformation into diagonal state-space representation is also explained. Then the method of identifying controllability and observability based on the diagrams will be presented. Finally, a numerical example is presented which allows a deeper understanding of the topic.
