Abstract |
A small size dipole microstrip patch antenna for broadband applications is designed and analysed in this paper. The proposed antenna dimension is 30×20×1.6 mm3.The proposed antenna is printed on both sides of a low cost, reliable FR4 substrate. This substrate has a thickness of 1.6 mm, dielectric constant of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.02. The proposed antenna has a -10 dB wide impedance bandwidth ranging from 2.99 GHz to 5.16 GHz with four resonant frequencies at 3.21 GHz, 3.80 GHz, 4.04 GHz and 4.79 GHz. Also a peak gain of 5.2 dBi and a bandwidth of 54.79% are obtained for the proposed antenna. The VSWR is less than 2 for entire operating frequency range of the antenna. Radiation efficiency is above 60% at all resonance frequencies. Radiation patterns at all resonance frequencies are stable with low cross polarization. All the simulation results are obtained by using CST Microwave Studio. Keywords - Microstrip Patch Antenna, Dipole, Compact, High Gain | |||||||||
