Abstract
Now a day due to increasing demand of wheelchair in medical science to climb the stairs. Here is the attempt of making a wheelchair which can climb the stairs and even on uneven surfaces. Thus to overcome the problem of climbing the steps in the forward direction, we have chosen “ROCKER BOGIE MECHANISM”, as the solution and a self-leveling mechanism for the person to acquire stability. The wheelchair design, calculation and fabrication details are given in brief in this article. Thus we are successful in implementing wheelchair which can climb staircase as well as it is affordable to all class of disable person. Keywords - Rocker Bogie, Motors, Wheels, Gear Box, Main Model.
