Abstract
The purposes of this research, titled “The database of healthy food with providing knowledge of food consumption management in Health Promotional Hospital Ladyai Samut Songkhram Province, Thailand” were to study the characteristics of the diabetic elderly people ,analyze the outcome of providing knowledge about food consumption of the diabetic elderly people and to study the satisfaction of providing food consumption knowledge with the database of healthy food in Health Promotional Hospital in Samut Songkhram Province. The sample used to study was drawn by using the selection from the diabetic elderly people who live in Samut Songkhram Province. The data were gathered from October 2017 until March, 2018 by using a one group pre-test – post-test design built by the researchers. The statistical techniques used for analyzing were, percentage, mean ( ) and standard deviation (S.D), and one group pre-test – post-test design. The research findings that the diabetic elderly people were women with the age between 60 and 69 years, 60 percent were agriculturists, and 54 percent have had the diabetes between 1-3 years. Furthermore, finding that the knowledge of food consumption of the diabetic elderly people before providing information got 63 percent which in moderate level, followed by 10 percent in low level of knowledge. Moreover, after the diabetic elderly people persons got knowledge of food consumption, the result showed that they got 100 percent knowledge added after learning. Besides, with regard to provide knowledge, of the diabetic elderly people, findings that the pre-test of the diabetic elderly people before received knowledge =12.49, SD=2.24 and the post-test =17.91, SD=0.86 that in high progress with confidence at level 0.05, respectively. Then, the satisfaction of the data base of healthy food with providing knowledge =4.90, SD=0.26 followed by the satisfaction of the data base of healthy food with age got the same level with =4.90, SD=0.26 and the satisfaction with measurement and evaluation of knowledge =4.80, SD=0.21.
