Abstract |
Smart door lock system (SDLS) is the upgraded version of the conventional doorbells to provide additional notification about the identity of a known visitor. This system allows the owner to identify the person waiting outside his/her home. The owner can grant access to enter his/her home from a remote location to give the guest a comfortable welcome. This system comprises of a fingerprint scanner and GSM module that is used to identify the known visitor and to send the message to the owner notifying the arrival, respectively. The fingerprint scanner was also used as a calling bell switch. DTMF module was implemented to unlock the home from a remote location using GSM technology. All the external sensors are integrated with the Arduino UNO microcontroller board making a control unit to facilitate all the intended tasks.
