Abstract
Now a days, with the development of society, environmental issues cannot be ignored while economic benefits increase. Electricity has always been regarded as the cleanest source of energy, but in this study it is thought that electricity can also produce corresponding pollution. The carbon footprint is used to describe air pollution produced by human production activities. The carbon footprint generated by the use of electricity is called a power carbon footprint or an electricity carbon footprint. This study briefly calculated the carbon footprint of Shanghai and Tianjin from 2005 to 2015, and briefly analyzed the relationship between electricity use and greenhouse gas pollution in the municipalities. Index Terms - Annual power generation, Carbon emission factor, electricity carbon footprint, power loss rate
