Abstract
Soil compaction is a severe problem in mechanized crop production. Although measures of avoiding the causes are recommended, theyhavestill some difficulties in effective implementation. Existing subsoilers used to alleviate soil compaction are safety bolt types. It is a large cost and time consumption for replacement of the safety bolt when it shears due to hitting a strong obstacle. In this study, the subsoiler's auto reset shank using automotive leaf spring was to be designed in order to help ease difficulty of safety bolt replacement. Analysis of the design based on typical subsoiler's configuration was conducted. Also, new design to meet the practical requirements was proposed.
