Abstract |
Chicken egg shell and rubber waste, both are considered to create worst environmental problems. Reclamation of rubber waste can be done via various physical and chemical processes. This research work investigates the use of egg shells powder (ESP) as a bio-filler for reclaim rubber compounds. ESP in various loadings (1 to 10 phr) has been utilized in reclaim rubber compounds and its effect on cure, physical and mechanical properties was observed. Study indicates that as we increase the loading of ESP, tensile strength decreases, while hardness and other cure characteristics are not much affected.
