Abstract
Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) are a global problem adding to the economic burden of the society. Anti-cancer drugs are more prone to cause nausea and vomiting and there is lack of pharmacovigillance data on such type of drugs. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to assess the efficacy of antiemetic drugs in the cancer chemotherapy The study was done in the inpatient department of Oncology & Pharmacology NSCB Medical College Jabalpur from January 2017 to July2017, among the patients receiving chemotherapy. Methods: It was a single centered, observational study 218 Patients were taken who were scheduled to highly, moderately & minimal emetogenic chemotherapy were interviewed & data was collected information on the acute and delayed nausea vomiting Conclusions – The results suggest that the antiemetic effectiveness combination of aprepitant, ondansetrone and dexamethasone was superior to a single drug regimen or combination of either ondansetrone or dexamethasone alone.
