Abstract |
Inspired by nature creatures that can repellent water relying on the microcosmic surface structures and special chemistry compositions, a type of novel nanospray has been developed to prepare immediate superhydrophobic textile surfaces. Through an in situ polymerization of pyrrole on the surface of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), a one-dimensional core-shell structured PPY/MWCNT composite was synthesized. After the even dispersion into ethanol, a ready-to-used nanospray was developed to fast make a fabric surface superhydrophobic with the contacting water drops easily sliding off. The resultant PPY/MWCNT was characterized in detail and the water-repellent efficiency of the treated PET fabric was investigated with different spray coating amount.
