Abstract
Phytochemical study of aerial part of Genistamicrocephalawe afforded five known isoflavonoids for the first time from this plant, from ethyl acetate and butanolic extracts, namely genistein (5, 7,4`-trihydroxyisoflavone)1, daidzein (7,4`- trihydroxyisoflavone)2, isopropyl (5-methoxy daidzein)3, genistein (7-O-β-D-glucopyranosylgenistein)4 and daidzein (7-O- β-D-glucopyranosyldaidzein)5,These compounds were identified by 1H , 13C and 2D NMR spectroscopic methods. The biologicalstudies based on antioxidant and antimicrobial activities are undergoing. Keywords- Fabaceae, Genistamicrocephala, Secondary metabolites, Antioxidant, Folin, FRAP, DPPH, Antibacterial activity.
