Abstract
This paper presents results of an experimental program to determine mechanical properties of Coconut fibre reinforced Concrete which contains fly ash, fine & coarse aggregates & coconut fibres. The mix proportion for M-40 grade of concrete was prepared and For compressive strength 150 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm concrete cube was casted. Coconut fibers were added to the mix in 0%,0.5%,1%,1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, 3%,3.5%, 4%,4.5%, 5% by volume of cement and Fly Ash. Fly Ash was added by replacement 20% of ordinary portland cement. Compressive strength was determined after curing for 7 days and 28 days. Experimental value of maximum compressive strength and From Graphs and equation of regression maximum compressive strength achieved with addition of coconut fiber of 3% by volume of cement and Fly Ash. Based on the test results it was observed that the coconut fibers reinforced concrete have relatively higher strength in curing time (7 and 28 days) than Fly Ash cement concrete. Keywords— Coconut Fiber, Fly Ash, Coconut Fiber Reinforced concrete(CFRC), Compressive Strength, Regression Analysis.
