Abstract
Abstract - Currently, the massive use of mineral lubricants (used to reduce friction and increase energy efficiency in industrial and automotive applications) due to their difficulty in degrading are causing environmental problems. For this reason, the search for an environmentally friendly substitute has been encouraged. As promising alternatives to mineral oil, biolubricants have attracted much attention due to their advantages of renewability, biodegradability and non-toxicity[1]. For this reason, the implementation of biorefineries (where the production of biolubricants through transesterification could play an important role) is gaining importance for these purposes, using natural raw materials such as the high oleic safflower, which is an interesting crop that can be adapted to different climates under extreme weather conditions. The objective of this study was the design of a reactor, dimensioning it according to the properties of the biolubricant and the demand in Extremadura region, to produce biolubricant of high oleic safflower oil by double transesterification. Keywords - High Oleic Safflower, Fatty Acids Methyl Esters, Pentaerythrite, Discontinuous Reactor.
