Abstract |
Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) remains an incurable brain disease. One of the most important signaling molecules in the brain, nitric oxide (NO) mediates important inter- and intracellular interaction in astrocytes and neurons. In the presented study, the three-dimensional glioblastoma multicellular models were established from A-172 cells and grown in vitro in a picowell array. "Intra-spheroid" NO content and its association with mitochondrial function were studied at a resolution of single 3D object. The association between "intra-spheroid" levels of nitric oxide and mitochondrial status is revealed in real-time measurements and may serve as a significant target for tumor cure.
