Abstract
The implementation of the third generation of advanced high strength steels in the car body needs a detailed knowledge about their formability. The main aim of the present study is to establish an understanding of how bendability of 3GAHSS especially Medium Mn steel can be improved by modifying the microstructure through heat treatment - intercritical annealing (IA) -. For this purpose three points bending experiments are carried out on samples with and without heat treatment. The results showed that Intercritical annealing improved bendability of the third generation medium Mn steel. Keywords- Bending, Intercritical Annealing, Medium Mn Steel, Microstructure, Micro-Hardness.
