Hash Chain based Authenticated Secure Communication for Healthcare System

With the growing average life expectancy, interest in health has also increased. Ubiquitous healthcare system has been introduced with keen attention these days because medical services are available at any time and any place. Since healthcare environment is based on wireless networks, security vulnerability can be a serious limitation. In this paper, we propose an authenticated secure communication based on hash chain and proxy signature for healthcare environment, which provides anonymity and untraceability. Accordingly, the risk of personal information leakage is removed in the proposed authenticated secure communication scheme. Furthermore, the proposed scheme also provides the required security features for healthcare system. The proposed scheme is expected to be used not only in healthcare environment but also in the fields handling sensitive information.
