Abstract
The objective of this study, a new and green magnetic nano adsorbent (Fe3O4@SiO2) was synthesized to use an efficient and a low-cost nano adsorbent in order to the removal of lead (II) ions. The synthesized magnetic nano adsorbent was characterized by different techniques. The influence factors on the adsorption capacity of the lead (II) ions in the contact time, the solution pH, the initial concentration of lead (II) ions and the amount of Fe3O4@SiO2 in the aqueous solution were studied. The adsorption data more accurately was fitted using Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption isotherm models. It was found that the Freundlich equation correlated better with experimental data than Langmuir. According to the parameters of the Langmuir isotherm, lead (II) ions to a maximum adsorption capacity at room temperature of 12.8 mg/g.
