Abstract
In this study, we have performed the sonochemical degradation of different concentration of bisphenol-A, phenol and the mixture of the two pollutants and to determine kinetic parameters, using the model of Michaelis-Menton.The kinetic of the sonolytic of bisphenol-A (BPA), phenol (PhOH) and the mixture of the two pollutants was monitored for a large initial concentration range of 1 μM to 382 μM for BPA, 1.88 μM to 2000 μM for PhOH and mixture (1.88+1.5) μM to (191+ 234) μM of BPA and PhOH.The measured pseudo-first-order rate constants decreased with increasing pollutant concentrations. Although the pseudo-first-order constant decreased with increasing concentration, the reaction velocity increased. The maximum degradation rates could be explained as follows. For the initial increase in the degradation rates, it is simply considered that the more bulk concentration increases, the more the concentration in the interfacial region increases. This will be explained by Michaelis-Menton kinetics. Keywords – Sonochemichal degradation; Pollutant; Bisphenol-A; Phenol; kinetics; Michaelis-Menton
