Abstract
In this study SINTACS method is applied to assess vulnerability of Gharesoo – GorganRood coastal aquifer in Gogran Province. This method consists of seven parameters including depth to water table (S), effective infiltration (I), unsaturated zone (N), soil media (T), aquifer hydrogeologic features (A), hydraulic conductivity (C) and topographic surface (S). Here, TDS concentration was used as the main contaminant in the area under consideration. The final vulnerability index map was classified into four classes from low to very high vulnerability. The central areas in the region are the most vulnerable to seawater intrusion. Keywords - Aquifer, SINTACS, DRASTIC, GIS, Vulnerability Map.
