Abstract
Corn Cob is an easily available waste which has been used in the removal of .Zn2+ by the process of adsorption. Due to the increase of industries heavy metal contamination in the wastewater has been increased tremendously. Many researchers have already proved about the effectiveness of adsorption process in the removal of heavy metals from by wastewater by using the activated carbon. Because of its high adsorbent cost the process is not recommended in the treatment of wastewater. This study is to identify the low cost adsorbent in the removal of .Zn2+ from the waste water. The aim of this study is to identify the effectiveness of Corn Cobs in the removal of Zn2+.Adsorption intensity of the adsorbate on adsorbent surface, adsorption capacity of adsorbent and adsorption isotherms like Freundlich and Langmuir were estimated. Keywords - Zinc, Adsorption, Corn Cobs, Adsorption Isotherms.
