Abstract
Photophysical properties of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(N-methylpyridinium-4-yl)-21H,23H-porphyrin cation (TMPyP4+) bound to the double-stranded DNA of Dengue virus disease has been investigated in buffer solution of PBS 0.01 M (pH 7.2) using UV-Vis, Fluorescence and Time-Resolved Optical Spectroscopes. The specific intercalation interaction between Guanidine (G) and Cytosine (C) bases in the structure of double-stranded Dengue DNA (contains 55% GC) and Cationic porphyrin molecule considerably affected the absorption and emission spectra as well as the lifetime of exited-states of TMPyP+4. The intrinsic binding constant Kb of Porphyrin-DNA complex was found to be 4.53×107 M-1 that demonstrates the high affinity binding interaction of TMPyP+4 with Dengue Virus DNA in the applied conditions. Keywords- Dengue Virus DNA, Cationic Porphyrin, Intercalation Interaction, Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Time-Resolved Optical Spectroscopy.
