Abstract |
In this paper, an improved shear strength equation was proposed for predicting the shear strength of concrete wide beams. A shear test was performed on 9 concrete wide beams with different spacing of transverse reinforcement and width of supports. The proposed shear strength equation was developed based on extensive experimental results. The accuracy of proposed shear strength equation was evaluated against experimental results. The proposed equation was shown to provide the well prediction on shear strength for concrete wide beams.
