Abstract |
Nowadays the concrete and reinforced concrete are considered as main construction materials, which are applied during construction of buildings and structures used for various purposes due to their beneficial features, such as an easy formation of concrete mixture that allows to practically obtain a structure of any shape and size, ensure it’s the strength and durability, etc. The reasons of corrosion of concrete and reinforced concrete depend on operation and maintenance conditions and impacts caused by the aggressive nature of surrounding environment. Even presence of water in the concrete structure can cause serious damage, and that’s why the issue of ensuring the proper waterproofing becomes crucial. There are numerous methods for waterproofing of the concrete, but penetrative waterproofing materials became widespread relatively recently, because they not only ensure impermeability of the concrete, but also improve several other mechanical characteristics. The paper analyzes advantages of using penetrative waterproofing mortars and summarizes the outcomes of the research undertaken to reveal the best possible solvent that may be applied for penetrating waterproofing, as well as presents the results of a series of laboratory experiments of mixtures with various solvent – waterproofing material ratios. Keywords— Concrete, Corrosion, Penetrating Waterproofing, Waterproofing Materials, Silane/Siloxane Emulsion. | |||||||||
