Abstract
It is well known fact that non-biodegradable materials disposed into the land, results soil pollution. Also it is fascinated to use these non-biodegradable materials for construction purpose. In the present study waste glass powder which possesses pozzolana property is used as a partial replacement of cement in concrete. To study the role of glass powder in concrete, the mechanical properties such as compressive strength, flexural strength, and Modulus of elasticity of M20 grade concrete were determined with different percentages of glass powder such as 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, and 40%. The specimens were tested at the age of 7 days and 28 days. Also quality of concrete was determined by UPV test. The results indicate that the concrete with using waste glass powder were able to increase the workability and strength of concrete. Index Terms—Waste glass powder, workability, compressive strength, and flexural strength.
