Abstract |
The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of Post-Independence development of India on building crafts from 1947 - 1959. This paper starts with the elaboration of what was the situation of the architecture field in India immediately after independence, which is followed by how revivalist and modernist thought came in the field of Indian architecture and why? It also explains the impact on crafts with relation to revivalists and modernists.
