Abstract
The introduction of BIM in Malaysia has been well-received and steadily implemented by architects, engineers, and quantity surveyors. However, respond from contractors to this new technology has not been encouraging although they are in general, aware of BIM. They perceiveBIM as a design tool specifically for designers, despite the fact that they too could equally benefit from this emerging technology. This paper reports on a research aimed at investigating the level of implementation of BIM among construction contractors in Malaysia.A questionnaire survey was conducted within the industry to achieve the objectives. From the results of the survey, it was found that the level of implementation of BIM among contractors is still at a very low level.
