Abstract |
This paper introduces an innovative mechanical connection system to be applied in modular construction projects. The proposed connection system can be applied for modular construction to facilitate and accelerate the assembly process. This connection is a patented product with the AU patent number of 174860 under the name of Modular Integrating System (MIS). To evaluate the structural behaviour of the system, a set of experimental and numerical studies are performed. The results show that the proposed system increases the overall integrity of the modular structure while providing the time saving benefits.
