Abstract
When producing a ductile concrete employing fibers, the bonding between the fibers and matrix is an essential factor. There are several ways of increasing the bonding, and the cold plasma treatment proved to be the suitable one. However, a time dependence of such a treatment is questionable. The paper presents an investigation of the treatment effect change in time, when exposed to atmosphere, for two fiber types commonly used as reinforcement in construction industry. The change was quantified by pull-out tests and contact angle evaluation. It can be conjectured that the time dependence is not significant, and it is not necessary to utilize treated fibers soon after the treatment.
