Abstract
In this study experiments in laboratory tanks with vegetation bed are performedfor the investigation of the effect of cross sectional shape on the movement of gravity currents. For this reason a series of experiments for rectangular and composite (upper rectangular and lower trapezoidal) cross-section are carried out. The results show that the different crosssection influences significantly the motion and the front velocity of gravity currents. Keywords- Gravity Currents, Lock-Exchange Experimental, Vegetated Bed, Front Velocity.
