Abstract
This study examined the effect of different parameters (curing temperatures, concentrations of NaOH (SH), and liquid/binder (l/b)) to obtain maximum compressive strength in the production of volcanic tuff based geopolymer concrete (GPC). The volcanic tuff obtained from Nevşehir (Turkey) was activated by using SH. SH concentrations were determined as 10, 12, 14 and 16 molarity (M) for all GPC samples. Two different liquid/binder (l/b) ratios were determined as 0.5 and 0.6. In addition, different curing temperatures (90, 120 and 150°C) were applied to hardening of GPC samples for 72 hours. Experimental results indicated that the optimum conditions were determined as 12 M, 0.6 and 90°C for SH concentration, l/b ratio and curing temperature, respectively.
