Abstract
A data acquisition consists of a sensor connected to an ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) and then the data is transmitted for storage or display. The sensor connected may be a temperature sensor, accelerometer, photo diodes and so on. Almost every system is a Data Acquisition System. The common element is an ADC. The limitation introduced by on chip ADC is sampling speed, which is overcome using PSoC. It is a powerful and versatile platform developed by Cypress Semiconductors that helps in speedy development of range of products. With inbuilt ADC and UART, a lot of unnecessary hardware can be eliminated thus reducing the cost and size of the circuit.
