Abstract |
Image segmentation is an essential tool in image processing and can serve being an efficient front end to sophisticated algorithms and thereby simplify subsequent processing. In this paper, we proposed a statistical region growing procedure combined with hierarchical region merging. The region growing step over segments the input radar image, thus enabling region aggregation by employing a combination of the fuzzy logic and Dynamic Statistical Region Merging algorithm for performance improvement. The MATLAB is used as a tool for performing this study. The DSRM using fuzzy logic is used to optimize the results of SRM algorithm. A remote sensing image is used to perform the segmentation process and obtain the results.
