Abstract |
Data is a pivotal asset to any enterprise in their day-to-day decision making. Since long, data helped organizations to remain in business by providing operational or analytical capabilities. Data Architecture, as part of enterprise architecture is one of the main pillars for successful architecture vision of any enterprise to drive business value. Depending on organizational business or data strategy, the data architecture offers data in a way which is useful to business users internally or externally in compliance to set policies, processes, or regulatory requirements. Data Architecture defines the entire data supply chain for lifecycle of data. The data architecture is focused on acquisition, management, transformation, dispersal, and security while delivering value to the business. This paper is an attempt to identify some of the common pitfalls in the data architecture approaches which are used for implementation of a data platform.
