Abstract
Today's technology is evolving rapidly, particularly in mobile applications, due to the breadth of subjects they address. An autism spectrum disorder is a condition that affects a person's ability to communicate and interact with others and causes problems such as difficulty understanding other people's emotions and expressing their own emotions, which can seem complicated [1]. These applications will benefit people with special needs, especially autism spectrum disorder. Therefore, this study aims to present the development of a mobile educational application for autistic children and their parents ranging in age from 4 to 12. The application is available for users of both the IOS and Android operating systems and supports the Arabic language. In addition, the application will assist the parents in developing a lesson plan for their children that considers the specific requirements of each child. The parent will be able to monitor their child's development using the program because it will offer a variety of lessons, such as the Quran, expressing emotions, daily tasks, and Arabic alphabetic. Moreover, as autistic children tend to be visual learners, the program will include visual aids such as picture films and audio to demonstrate lessons to make the educational process more entertaining and appealing to the children. Also, the parent will be able to track their child's progress. Ultimately, the authors aim to assist autistic children and their parents because very few applications in Saudi Arabia support this subject.
