Abstract |
Abstract—Healthcare management systems faces various obstacles that can massively effect their efficiency, including a bottle neck of central management, unified data management and sensitive data privacy concerns. The central healthcare management systems considered as a single trusted entity that can highly lead to potential sensitive data leakage or tamper. Taking this major concern into consideration, this paper provides a performance evaluation of developing blockchain-based healthcare management system that has the ability to overcome the previous stated major concern, including decentralization data management architecture, security and tamper-proof mechanism. The performance evaluation considered various possible required functionalities for Healthcare management systems. The conducted experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of deploying blockchain technology in healthcare management systems.
