Abstract
A novel network-based method is proposed to determine the guidewire positions inside the carotid artery in this study. We can always calculate an ideal guidewire position by the shortest path algorithm, such as critical path algorithm for activity on edge network, based on the principle of maximum path length. To adjust the guidewire position toward achieving an ideal simulation result, an adaptive sampling algorithm are proposed. Compared to the existing methods, our method can achieve 39%,20%and58% improvements in accuracy for phantoms 1, 2 and 3 investigated in this work.
