Abstract
This paper formulates a secure routing protocol for ad-hoc on-demand distance vector routing protocol by adding the notion of trust. The trust notion formulated using fuzzy logic system is presented. The developed model was simulated in OPNET simulation software. The new routing protocol does not only use the minimum hop count but also considers the most trusted path from the source to the destination. The performance analysis of the proposed model (PM) and the conventional AODV was done using media access delay, network throughput and total packet dropped. With the security model in place, our PM model does not incur higher overhead when compared with the conventional AODV. The simulation result is also presented.
