Abstract |
Abstract - This short paper examines the confliction atmosphere within which Nigerians trade cryptocurrencies. Nigerians are quite adamant to trade cryptos even in the face of regulatory obstacle in the form of a ban. Most traders of cryptos in Nigeria are young people who rely on social media to get investment advice. As for the government entities, there seems to be a conflict. The Central Bank of Nigeria frowns on crypto trading, the Securities Exchange Commission prefers regulation of cryptos and the Nigerian Stock Exchange prefers to adopt blockchain technology in its operations beginning in 2023.
