Abstract |
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in cyber security are projected to grow 33% from 2020 to 2030, while the Cyber Seek Cyber security Supply/Demand Heat Map indicates that there are currently over 700,000 total cyber security job openings in the United States. It is unsurprising to find several innovative initiatives that focus on cyber security education and training in K-16. In this paper, we describe the project HaHa (Hands-on Hardware Security) that aims to: (i) creating a Community of Practice around hardware cyber security education; and (ii) broadening the hardware security education to meet the increasing cyber security needs across the State and the nation. This paper will be of interest to various individuals and groups involved in cyber security such as cyber security educators, researcher, curricula designers, policymakers, government agencies responsible of shaping education and research, professionals, and industry stakeholders.
